Who am I?

Hey everyone!

My name is Maaz Khan and I am a filmmaker from Toronto.

I have directed a highly successful commercial for Coca Cola's Open Happiness Project and was featured in a article in the "24 hour Toronto" newspaper.

I also directed a short-film called "My Friend" that was screen at the TIFF Next Wave festival.

Where I come from:

I went to a specialized TV/Film high school in Scarborough called Stephen Leacock C.I.  It was here where I found my passion for film-making.

Every year the school held a film festival that welcomes filmmakers from the school to present their work in-front of the whole school and compete for the top prize. So I thought that this would be an amazing opportunity to test my skills. So just as any good filmmaker would, I planned to seize the opportunity and I made an ambitious action film with choppy special effects and unfortunately I didn't win. I was totally stumped! So I decided that next year the film festival will be mine, I used this failure as fuel to power me through my next film. After a long painful high school year the films festival submissions opened. I planned ahead of time and made 2 short-films for the festival, this time I won first and second place in the festival and was over joyed by the response I received from my peers and teachers. It was a magical feeling!
